Relationship between research, theory, and practice, and the important role of each within the cycle of research, theory, and practice
Earlier in the course, we explored the relationship between research, theory, and practice, and the important role of each within the cycle of research, theory, and practice. Just as research is needed to advance nursing theory, theoretical frameworks are useful to guide the research process. In our second TD this week, you will identify a research study that did not use a theoretical framework, and discuss the impact of the study in relation to the missing theoretical component. Select a study current within five years, and please respond to the following:
Summarize a specific research study that does not describe or name a theory or conceptual framework that guided the study. What consequences, if any, do you see from the absence of a guiding framework or theory?
As you consider the research summary, how might the study have been impacted if a theoretical framework had been applied? If you were conducting this study, which theoretical framework would you apply? Explain your rationale. Be sure to include scholarly support from the literature to validate your assertions.
Please provide atleast one scholarly peer reviewed article, no more than 5 years old please. Also please no textbooks, must be an article. Please use APA style and provide me with atleast one paragraph. Read the question and what its asking.
