Do Brands Have Finite Lives?
Do Brands Have Finite Lives?
After this discussion you will be able asses how and why firms make adjustments to their brand strategies based on the life cycle of their products. Do technology based products not have finite lives? When they are in product development planning is the product’s life cycle a predetermined time frame? Or, do market conditions dictate the life of the product?
Respond to the following:
• Consider the statements “Brands cannot be expected to last forever” and “There is no reason for a brand to ever become obsolete.” Take a stand and justify one statement, supporting it with examples from your textbook or other resources.
Please use the discussion activity question to have meaningful exchanges with your classmates. If you need to perform some additional research to support your claims, then please do so but be sure to cite your sources. Please note that in order to perform a discussion you are required to participate during the module period. You must respond to at least two other postings to receive full credit. These responses must be related to the content of another student’s post and not simply telling someone they did a “good job” (please do that as well).
See the Discussion Rubric for details. Read any postings already provided by your instructor or fellow students. Remember to read the feedback to your own major posts and reply to it throughout the module.
See the Course Calendar for due dates for posts and responses.
Compose your work using a word processor and save it, as a Plain Text or an .rtf, to your computer. When you’re ready to make your initial posting, please click on the “Create Thread” button and copy/paste the text from your document into the message field. Be sure to check your work and correct any spelling or grammatical errors before you post it.
