Exploring the effects of transformational leadership on organizational culture and patient safety

Select a leadership theory and competencies and a current issue to examine. Identify and concisely summarize key premises and concepts of the theory and relevant competencies. Provide a focused analysis of the selected issue as it relates to nursing as a profession or discipline. Determine implications of the issue for nursing leadership, with consideration to nursing as a profession or discipline. Integrate discussion of literature (including peer reviewed journal articles, textbooks, organization websites and documents) relevant to current, preferred or advocated perspectives about nursing leadership in Canada and, if applicable, internationally. Finally, propose and reflect on one to two priority personal goals related to developing effective leadership as a senior leadership as a senior nursing student and in the first few years as a new graduate/registered nurse.
