Implementation of a simulation lab for RN training will increase the skill and confidence levels of RNs, therefore increasing patient safety.
Brief description of proposed PICOT: This strategic plan will aim to design and implement a simulation lab (within the hospital building) that will be used as an educational intervention in the acute care setting. Providing simulated lab exercises are a way to offer training in a safe, non-threatening environment, which can greatly increase the RN’s feeling of preparedness when faced with scenarios that are rarely or seldom encountered. The cumulative effect of simulation training is saved lives and improved patient condition.
