Airport construction projects In order for airports to continue to meet the needs of their community, there is always some form of construction going on, whether it be preventive maintenance such as runway resurfacing or future-oriented items such as capital improvement projects. Determine what construction activities your airport is conducting or plans to conduct. Prepare a 1-page essay, answering the following questions for all construction being accomplished: What construction project(s) is your airport conducting or planning to conduct? Identify what it is. Describe what type of funding is being used.? Describe what qualitative or quantitative forecasting methods were used to determine what construction is necessary.? Describe why it’s being accomplished.? Describe it’s current status.? 2. Newspaper Article You are the airport director of your selected airport. You have been asked to write an article for the local newspaper to discuss the importance the airport has on the community. Prepare a 1page article that outlines the points you feel are important for your community to know. Make a strong case as to why they should keep your airport open, including why they should also support future improvements at your airport. Base your article on what you have learned so far, not only from the presentations but also from articles you’ve reviewed and personal experiences. Remember, it is essential that you include punchlines in your article that demonstrate how the airport gives back to its community.
