Each genre analysis should cover all of the following in this order. An overall discussion of the genre: what makes this a genre, what are the conventions of the genre, what exigency does it answer, what common features are usually used, etc? A descriptive analysis of two different examples of the genre: your analysis should aim to answer most of the questions on the Rhetorical Analysis handout, including a discussion of: the context(s) of each example the audience(s) of each example the purpose(s) of each example the persona(s) of each example at least three of the same rhetorical choices from each example A comparative analysis of the examples: this comparison should discuss similarities and differences between the two examples for each of the above (e.g. how are the audiences similar/different, how are the purposes similar/different, etc?). A cause/effect analysis that explains why these simi
