The essay is on Egyptian life, the mummification and Pharaohs. The essay length 10 pages double-spaced before the Works Cited pages begin, in MLA style. A total of 7 sources are required at minimum. At least 4 must be from Lone Star College databases, which can include (e-books). At least 3 sources must be books (e-books or traditional books). Wikipedia and Ask.com-type sites cannot be used. Dictionary definitions are not acceptable for college coursework and cannot be used. Sources will need to be quoted and paraphrased correctly in MLA style. A research question is stated in the essay and an arguable thesis is present. The essay needs to be informative and persuasive. The purpose of this essay is to inform your audience about your topic and to persuade your audience to adopt your argument about the issue. Your audience is your instructor and a wider academic and civic audience, so a professional and academic tone is required. Arguable Thesis + Make an Argument: you will need to persuade your audience as to why we should be empathetic about your subject. Source Requirements A total of 7 sources are required at minimum. Students will need to evaluate all sources to ensure there is a high level of academic or professional material ‒ at least college-level and preferably peerreviewed. Format Requirements: This essay should be 10 pages (a minimum of 10 full pages), doublespaced, and in MLA style. You will need a Works Cited page at the end of your essay, and the Works Cited page does not count toward the minimum pages–it is an additional page. The Works Cited page(s) should also have page numbers and be included as one document with your paper. FONT: You must use either Times New Roman 12 pt. font or Arial 11 pt. font. Paraphrasing and Quoting Correctly: Sources will need to be quoted and paraphrased correctly in MLA style. *Evaluation: • A Research Question is stated in the essay.
 • An Arguable Thesis is present.
 • A main Argument is clearly defined.

 • The paper is at least 10 pages.
 • The essay is informative and persuasive.
 • The tone is academic and professional.
 • A minimum of 7 outside sources are used.
 • At least 4 sources are from the LSC Library or LSC Databases. (Lone Star College) 
 • At least 3 sources are books or E-books.
 • There is a Works Cited page in MLA style that is included in the document.
 • The essay is a minimum of 10 full pages, with the Works Cited as an additional page.
 • Information is paraphrased or quoted correctly, giving an introduction to the author and a parenthetical, in-text citation afterward.
 • Spell check has been used (points deducted if not).
 • The paper has been proofread for errors, revised, and polished.
