The study of crime, its causes and correlates, is an enduring avenue of study, effectively traced to the story of Cain and Able. Throughout time, explanations have been offered from a biological perspective, sociological perspective, and ecological perspective. While theories of crime change the more criminogenic behavior is studied, what remains constant is the quadratic intersection of time, space (location), offender, and victim. These four must intersect in order for a crime to occur. One must be aware that crime is a social construct and society dictates what normal or abnormal behavior is.
