If I understand this correctly, the roadmap is putting all your strategic objectives together. It is taking each objective and laying out all the steps all employees need to do to achieve that goal. Who does what and when! You also need to put into the steps “roadblocks” or risks that may happen. Sort of like having a plan B. The vision and the strategic objectives have to be in place and fully understood before you can design your roadmap. The roadmap should be clear and should also tell anyone who looks at it, where you are at in achieving your goal and what is left to do. The road map is a continuous piece of information. In other words, it may need changes often to eliminate “bumps on the road.”
