Arguments for and arguments against legalizing prostitution

Part of the reading for this module involves vice crimes, including prostitution. Nevada is the exception because it allows each county to make the decision to criminalize or legalize prostitution. This debate is once again in the news as certain counties are reevaluating their positions on this issue. Your book has some background but you will probably need outside sources in addition to your book for this paper. Please answer the following questions. 1) Provide at least three arguments for, and three arguments against legalizing prostitution. 2) What do you think is the right solution? Should prostitution be legalized and why or why not? (In other words, which set of factors noted above weigh heaviest in your mind). 3) Should it matter that the “world’s oldest profession” will likely continue no matter what states do? 4) Is this an appropriate use of police power and criminal law, and why or why not? Please write your response in word format, 2-4 pages in length. They should be double-spaced, using Times New Roman font, with one-inch margins all around. Please cite your book and all outside sources.
