1) The author makes a huge claim for Athens when he dubs it “the World’s greatest civilization”. To what extent do you think this is justified, or not? Why or why not? 2) Do you agree that aspects of Athenian democracy (such as direct voting on legislation by the citizens; ostracism, etc.) can or should be implemented into US constitutional democracy. 3) Regardless of how you feel about implementing direct election, how might it be put into place?
