3 pages and works cited MLA format covering that Booker T Washington’s approach to fighting for equality for African Americans was the right decision/approach for the time. Consider also the critiques his contemporaries offered as you evaluate his leadership. Provide clear reasons for your support with his leadership style and agenda. While Booker T Washington was sometimes called a race traitor or accused of simply accepting segregation after freedom, I personally feel that his goal was to build the cornerstone and establish a foundation for freedman. He encouraged African Americans to prissier education, acquire labor skills and work their way up instead of accepting or expecting equality. His idea was that the white man and the black man could work together and with the black man being 1/3 of the population they were needed and should be recognized as valuable.
