Discussion Question:  Think of a question that could be answered by polling a group of people. Describe the target population that would give reliable results. In your posting, include the characteristic of interest, the target population, and how you would choose a sample of the target population. Don’t forget to include the number of people you would have for your sample. Include the question you will ask the sample. Give a short paragraph explanation as to why this poll will not be biased.

Example :

Question: Was Barack Obama a good president?

Target population: Citizens of the United States of America.

Characteristic of Interest: Was Barack Obama a good president?

Sample: Every 5th person to walk into different gas stations all around the country. 1,000 people total.

This poll will not be biased because it is random and benign. Asking people randomly will take away any cultural bias and at gas stations because no matter who you are you have to stop at a gas station at some point. I believe it is also important that the person asking the question for the poll is not biased as to not persuade anyone, so there will be a new surveyor every day.
