This assignment will require students to conduct research and create an original argument supported with relevant evidence. Compare and contrast the work of three of the following major theories examining crime and deviance (making reference to key thinkers in each theoretical perspective discussed): – Classicism – Positivism – Crime as Social Construct (the criminological imagination) – Functionalism – Anomie – Marxism – Labelling Theory – Foucault and Deviance Reference correctly and consistently, using the Harvard system. Use a minimum of six academic sources. Grading will follow the marking scheme in the syllabus.
