Over the past five weeks you have read how the public health system in the United States is failing in many respects. In this week’s assignment write a three page essay that compares the public health systems of two foreign countries against one another (they must have different health care systems). Review: •Explanation of the different health systems utilized throughout the world (this is a link) •CIA information on each country in the world (this is a link) Areas that must be addressed: •Countries’ Population ◦Demographics (Number, Racial Makeup, Dominant Religion, etc.) ◦Crime Rates ◦Drug Use and Most Common ◦Access to Water/Food •Type of Health System •Public Health System Offerings (What health programs and treatments are truly free?) •What is ‘Public Health’ called in your chosen country? •Populations Satisfaction of the Health System? •WHO Health System Ranking •After you have completed the above information for both of your chosen countries, conclude your paper with a compare / contrast of your two countries. •Which system do you feel is the best, why? •Do you feel the public health offerings of that country are sufficient to care for the needs of the people, why? •Finally, select the best portions from each system and create an outline for a health care system based on the data and information collected.
