Theory into Practice Discussion

There is a theme in this course regarding the

length of time it takes for academic research evidence to show up in talent management/staffing/HR practice. This first “Theory to Practice” introduces this idea.

This Discussion concentrates on best practices from a series of questions from the readings. These readings seem well supported with research and have widespread application, hence the emphasis in this assignment on these practices.

The components of staffing (recruitment, selection, and employment) are important to the organization. Discuss how the organization employs these components to ensure that no KSAO deficiencies occur in its workforce? Be sure to include short term versus long term focus in staffing along with any technological changes impact on HR planning.

Discussion 1:
1. Compare the three major models of staffing found in the readings.
2. Select the implications that recruiters face in successfully obtaining the desired talent for the organization.
3. Discuss the significance of these implications on finding and retaining talented employees.
