Week 1: Assignment 2 You are currently serving as the Human Resource Director and have been put in charge of hiring a Director of Nurses (DON). The previous DON, without warning, quit two days ago. The previous DON had been very irresponsible in taking care of business and as a result the department is in disarray. Obviously, your organization is in need for an individual to step, supervisor 25 nurses, and take immediate control. For this position, you must create a position description (job description). Your assignment: Create a job description for the Director of Nurses. Table 6.1 on Page 120 provides a template for this exercise. You can also find other templates on line, but this example in Table 6.1 will satisfy requirements for this exercise. It is important that you research this position online and/or from other research resources to determine what are the requirements for this position that other organizations and the market are requiring (see the template for the components). It is important to remember that when creating a position/job description that you can validate why you are requiring that the potential employee have these knowledge, skills, and abilities. Validate your answer and use two outside sources (peer-reviewed articles). Adhere to APA format with the cover page, in-text citation, and references.
