Create a report for your team that communicates your organisational strategy and its importance.

  •  What is meant by organisational strategy (you might refer to the work of Richard Rumelt or Rita Gunther McGrath) and describe how an organisational strategy is arrived at.
  • how organisational strategy should ideally be cascaded and monitored through an organisation (you could think about the different levels of strategy, e.g. Corporate, Business Unit, Team and Individual level and how organisational goals can be translated into deliverable actions/goals/targets/KPIs for teams).
  •  how to implement operational/team plans, for example by setting KPIs or targets, managing resources and managing change within the team.
  • Outline clearly and concisely your own organisational strategy to your team/colleagues. You might wish to ask your line manager to introduce you to more senior people in the organisation to help you define this. If you do this, do include any emails as evidence.
  •  note on how your particular team goals and deliverables relate to delivering on the overall organisational strategy and how and why it is important to monitor outcomes.
  • assess how organisational culture can impact on team strategy.
