Rapid evidence assessment: AIM: To critically discuss the evidence of effective oral hygiene, reducing the incidence of ventilator acquired pneumonia. Objectives: • To classify the significance of ventilator acquired pneumonia. • To analyse the mechanical significance of oral care for this cohort of patients. • To compare the significance between mechanical oral care (toothbrushing) and chlorehedine. • To construct a recommendation for practice to reduce the incidence of ventilator acquired pneumonia.
