The new CTO of M3 Credit Union (M3 or Credit Union) is going to present the President and Board of Directors (BOD) an analysis and illustration of gaps in the current architectures. To clarify the analysis, the CTO will feature diagrams in the presentation. Diagrams of current infrastructure are important because the illustration provides a lens into the reusable building blocks. This discussion and analysis will result in a recommendation of a cloud solution for the credit union. The CTO has asked you to join the team that will provide a recommendation to the President and BOD. Your first task is to identify the current infrastructure. Use Microsoft® Visio® to create a 1- to a 2-page diagram of the current state of M3’s infrastructure that identifies the existing hardware, software, and appliances that serves as a building block to a cloud solution. Add text boxes to provide clarity to your deliverable. Remember to insert your name and date submitted. Note: Focus on the clarity and level of detail in your diagram, and not necessarily the visual quality. Review the diagram example for guidance. Write a 1- to 2-page executive summary to provide your cloud solution recommendation to M3’s President and BOD. Include the following in your summary: An overview of the business problem, needs, and desired outcomes Diagram of the credit union’s current-state infrastructure from above An explanation of the cloud computing architecture for the company Why the recommended solution is beneficial to the credit union At least two references formatted according to APA guidelines to include an not be limited to cover, headers, introduction, and conclusion The weekly assignments are related, so your work in each assignment will affect your ability to complete the next. Each weekly assignment will center around the following course scenario: M3 is a community Credit Union that provides full banking services. The bank is celebrating 20 years of service in the community with over 40,000 employees. The credit union has several branches throughout Portland, Oregon. The credit union is on track to meet the demands of its shareholders without compromise to customer service, ethics, privacy, and regulatory compliance. However, there is an opportunity to update its IT infrastructure to meet the changing customer demands. There is a high turnover in the IT department, which is concerning to the President and Board of Directors. As such, a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is hired and charged with detailing the current state of their IT infrastructure. After six months, the CTO provides the following infrastructure report, which is responsible for supporting the Office of President, Finance, Human Resources, Operations, Legal department, Enterprise IT Security, and the members. Infrastructure is a mixed environment comprised of: Legacy systems and software Mainframe Client-server Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V technology Wireless LAN Desktops and Laptops running (Microsoft® Office® 2010) Virtual Private Network DNS Server DHCP Firewalls Routers and Switches Problems: Infrastructure requires specialized skills and the resources are stressed. The business data resides in multiple places; thus, unreliable to the business leaders for making day-to-day business decisions. The mobile application is outdated.
