Please use at least 3 different sources from the required readings in weekly agenda to discuss one or two customs and the folktale associated with the Chinese festivals we went over: Yuanxiao Festival (Lantern Festival), Qingming Festival (Pure Brightness Festival) and Duanwu Festival (Dragon Boat Festival) in terms of its origin and its type*, style*, function*, etc. (* Please refer to The Introduction of Folktales PPT).

Your Blog essay should be 2-3 pages (minimum pages), double-spaced, and font size 12. Start with a 1-paragraph no more than 1-page summary of the custom(s) and the folktale behind it. Then, go on to analyze the setting, theme, characters, conflicts, issues of the story and how the story represents values of Chinese culture, traditions, or history. You are also required to compare and contrast the versions of the folktale from at least 3 different sources, and explain which version is the most popular/reliable, or is your favorite, and will you recommend this story to non-native Chinese and why. You will have to include at least 3 quote citations from the sources to analyze the story. You are encouraged to further establish your interpretation, criticism, and reflection on current events or life experience in comparison with your selected folktale story. A reference list should appear at the end of your paper. Each source you cite must be included in your reference list.
