Each part has questions, only needs to be a paragraph or two.

PART 1

you are taking this course, you are very close to graduating with your bachelorâs degree in business. Congratulations! However, what are you going to do with this degree? Letâs start to strategize.

  • Describe your dream job.
  • What are your personal qualifications for this job?
  • A competitive advantage is defined as anything that a firm does especially well when compared to rival firms or your competitors. Identify and describe one or two of your special qualities that could be considered your competitive advantage in the job market for your dream job.
  • A mission statement identifies the scope of a firmâs operations relative to the firmâs product and market. The mission includes the firmâs values and priorities. The mission answers the question: What is our business? The vision statement looks to the future and answers the question: What do we want to become? Review the steps for writing a Mission and a Vision statement. Then write your statements that reflect your dream job identified above.
  • PART 2
  • These events and trends could be economic, social, cultural, demographic, environmental, political, legal, governmental, technological and/or competitive in nature. An organization often has little or no control in these areas. For example, an organization cannot control what laws and bills that Congress might pass or a hurricane that destroys their plant.
  • Internal strengths and internal weaknesses are an organizationâs activities that can be controlled. These activities might include such core activities as production, marketing, accounting, etc.
  • Long term objectives can be defined as specific results that an organization seeks to achieve while pursuing its basic mission. Strategies are the means by which these long term objectives will be achieved.
  • In the Unit 1 discussion forum, you were the firm, and you presented your mission, vision and competitive advantage for your “dream job.” Continuing this same concept, respond to the following:
  • Refresh our memory! Identify your “dream job” from Unit One so we will have a frame of reference.
  • Consider your individual Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) for this dream. Share two or three items for each of the SWOT.
  • PART 3
  • Before you begin participating in this discussion, complete the personal business ethics questionnaire that is located below. Indicate whether you Strongly Agree (SA), Agree (A), Disagree (D), or Strongly Disagree (SD) with each statement. Do not try to guess the ârightâ answer; just indicate your feelings honestly by circling the appropriate numbers. Obtain your ethics score by adding the numbers that you circled on items 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, and 10. Then reverse your scores on items 1, 2, 5, and 8 and add those values to your other total to obtain a grand total. Grand total scores range from 10 to 40, with 40 being the most ethical and 10 the least ethical. A score of 25 is average.
