Building Urgency

Choose ONE of the following discussion question options to respond to.

Option 1 

  • Discuss a situation you have been in at work where people were complacent about a change. Where did the complacency originate from and how was it dealt with? What is the relationship between urgency and complacency? What could have been done to create a greater sense of urgency?

Option 2 

  • Describe a change initiative at your workplace that had a sense of urgency. How did the leader create and maintain the feeling of urgency? Describe what the leader did well and how he or she could have improved.
