You are the newly appointed IT Director of Fitter Snacker. You are well aware of the operational problems in the company. Business processes are neither effective nor efficient, due to the presence of multiple legacy systems. The company is falling behind competitors in both operational costs and customer services. You understand the solution lies in the replacement of the legacy system by an ERP system. As you start preparing for the ERP system project plan for presentation to the Board of Directors, a number of issues are apparent: 1. PROJECT PROPOSAL – Assessing the business requirements for the company, prepare the project proposal for submission to the Board of Directors: a. benefits (tangible and intangible) b. cost (budget), and c. a schedule for the project. 2. PROJECT STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT PLAN – identify key stakeholders of the project and how they should be managed to ensure project success 3. The VP of Marketing is arguing against the ERP project, and insists the current process is working well. You need to convince him to buy in to the project. Use a process modeling tool, prepare the new order-to-cash process using the new ERP system and compare how the new process is better than the existing process. 4. Establish the criteria in selecting the right ERP system for the company – as Fitter Snacker is a small/medium enterprise, you cannot afford systems like SAP or Oracle, in fact, you know these large scale ERP systems will be an overkill for Fitter Snacker. • The report should be approximately 2,000 words excluding executive summary, introduction, conclusion, references, appendices, charts and tables.
