Your task is to examine the key considerations in the minimum wage debate and to analyse through a lens of sustainability. You should structure your response around the following: i. Issues. Identify the key stakeholders impacted by the minimum wage debate. Explain the issues & perspective of each stakeholder. ii. Analysis. Analyse the issues identified in (i) faced by employers through a lens of sustainability. Focus on the Triple Bottom Line framework discussed in lectures, in particular the social (people) and economic (profit) elements. iii. Position. Each year, the Fair Work Commission conducts a review of minimum wages. Stakeholders have the opportunity to provide a written submission for consideration in the minimum wage review. Prepare a submission from the perspective of the stakeholder analysed in (ii) for consideration in the 2018/19 Annual Wage Review. The submission should state what increase you are recommending and be justified with evidence. iv. Critique. Defend your position derived in (iii) against the best possible argument(s) that may be raised in opposition to your position. The response length should be 1200 words (+/- 10%) excluding the reference list. It is not necessary to have equal word count for each part above but keep in mind each section is equally weighted (see marking criteria at the end of this document). You only need to address the 4 areas identified above. I.e. you do not need to write an introduction or conclusion. The response should be written in the 3rd person.
