Examples of the use/misuse of the power of discretion

Tasked with the roles of crime fighters and public servants, men and woman in law enforcement are given the power to deploy the use of discretion at their will. In your readings this week, examples of the use/misuse of the power of discretion will be discussed ranging from racial profiling to excessive use of force. Using research from your readings and outside sources, provide two examples of police discretion. One example will highlight misuse of discretion by an officer and the second example will provide the proper use of discretion. Explain and provide supportive arguments for your findings.
