Consider someone like Ted Kaczynski and for purposes of our threaded discussion, give us your thoughts on whether you think Kaczynski was a terrorist with a political agenda, or simply a serial killer with a faux political manifesto designed to make the law enforcement authorities consider him a politically motivated “warrior,” rather than a psychopath on the prowl. Does him being labeled one or the other change the way in which an investigation of his activities should be conducted? What about prosecutions of such cases. Should convictions for terrorism crimes, even though they are just crimes, be punished for severely? Why or why not?
