History of Tibetan religion

If you are studying a very old religion, you might briefly mention its origins/beginnings, and then focus on a particular period of history, such as the modern period, or the 20th century. Some questions you might consider as you write your own brief history of your topic might be: How did this religion start? Is it based on an older tradition? How did it develop, grow, spread, and change?
