The threaded discussion takes the place of class participation in a classroom class. The purpose of the threaded discussion questions is to develop a discussion between members of the class. The requirement is for each student to submit one entry for each discussion. Students can do this by answering the questions or by adding to another students comment. The entry is due by Thursday midnight.
Recently some people have complained that sports team mascots offend their cultural groups. Sports names such as the Notre Dame “Fighting Irish”, the Florida “Seminoles”, the Cleveland “Indians”, and the Atlanta “Braves” have been under pressure to change their names. Many high school and some colleges have complied. This assignment relates to Module Competency 4.
