In our final ethnographic book, System Kids: Adolescent Mothers and the Politics of Regulation (2015), anthropologist Lauren Silver discusses the complex everyday experiences of young mothers in U.S. foster care. She also highlights the work challenges of case managers/social workers who are charged with supporting these teen moms by the local child welfare system in New York.
