Healthcare is one of (if not the most) culturally diverse industries on the planet. Look at nearly any large healthcare organization and you will find quite a diversity of personnel — and often patients as well. For example – Orlando, Florida is the vacation destination of many people from all over the world. Languages, food, religious customs, clothing, health practices and more play a role in care of patients and management of staff. How important is it to be culturally sensitive, aware of and promote diversity? What can you as a leader do to address this with your staff?
