The traditional legal model of judicial decision making was challenged by the attitudinal model of judicial decision making, which was, in turn, challenged by the strategic model of judicial decision making. How would you describe and explain each of these models of decision making to an interested but uninformed observer? What evidence could we look for to judge which model is a superior explanation of the choices judges make? Be sure to fully analyze the advantages and drawbacks of both.
