The primary learning objective for this Case is for the student to develop a sense or judgment as to the importance of emergency and disaster planning for particular disasters. Based on the characteristics of various disasters and emergencies please complete the following tasks: 1.Identify a disaster/emergency which is best controlled through the implementation of each phase of Emergency Management. For instance, identify a disaster which is best or more effectively controlled by implementation of the Mitigation Phase, Response Phase, Recovery Phase, or the Preparedness Phase.
