The purpose of this assignment is to assess your understanding of an individual’s perception of a life event and how the event is aligned with course content. Instructions: Identify and interview an adult who has experienced one of the following topics. -Early retirement (40s to 50s) -Retirement (60s to 80s) -Job burnout -Empty nest syndrome -Boomerang children -Member of the sandwich generation -Grandparent for the first time -Starting a new career in retirement -Death of a child, spouse, or family member In the interview, probe as what the experience(s) was like for the individual. The interview is not about advantages or disadvantages of the experience from the individual’s perspective. Probe as to whether or not the experience was similar or different than the person anticipated, and how it changed the person’s life. Write a narrative of the interview. In your narrative, discuss: -Identification (anonymous) of person interviewed. For example, a retiree, a boomerang child, etc. and approximate length of the interview. -A description of the experience (250–300 words) of the person interviewed. -The individual’s perception of the experience as to how it changed his or her life. -How you think the individual’s perception of the experience is aligned with the course content for this lesson.
