Infusing Arts and Creativity throughout the ELCC Curriculum

Choose a space, or part of a space, that interests you. It can be indoors or outdoors, anywhere you enjoy. Spend time in this space and observe. Explore this space through the point of view of an: Artist Writer Musician Scientist Historian, and Mathematician Observe your surroundings and carefully record your observations through photographs, sketches, creative writing or other art forms (these will be presented creatively to your classmates in small group presentations). Peer to peer evaluations from the small group presentations will be worth 5% towards participation marks. Write a written reflection about how each point of view affected your experience, and explain how you would use these perspectives within the ELCC curriculum. The written portion of this assignment should be 4 pages in total Include: an introduction a conclusion a half page from each perspective a quote from your textbook connecting to theory for each perspective Assessments must adhere to the APA formatting guidelines set out in your text and the Guidelines for Writing in the course outline. This exercise is worth 25% of your final mark. Papers that are missing a reference list or in-text citations will not be graded and all papers will be checked for academic dishonesty. Please submit this exercise to your instructor for assessment. Marking Criteria: Assignment 1- Infusing Arts and Creativity throughout the ELCC Curriculum (Individual) Student has chosen a space to reflect upon and then explored the space through each point of view outlined in the assignment description (5 marks) Student has carefully recorded their observations through photographs, sketches, creative writing or other art forms and has presented a creative representation of the space to other students. (10 marks) Student has provided a written portion which includes: an introduction which explains your space a conclusion which summarizes your learning each perspective is clearly explained demonstrating depth of analysis a meaningful quote from your textbook which demonstrates a deep understanding of how to connect theory for each perspective (10 marks)
