Essay #4: The recent events in Charlottesville, Virginia have brought the memories of the Civil War to the national forefront. Write a 4- page essay (doublespaced, 12-pt. font, Times New Roman) on the legacy of Robert E. Lee and the Confederacy. Write two pages supporting the removal of Confederate statutes, and two pages against the removal of the Confederate memorials. Your argument should not be based upon emotions.
