Origins, course and outcome of Roman expansion
For this assignment you will be writing a short paper answering ONE of the questions below on the Roman Republic and Early Empire. After using the required primary source documentation and your texts you will answer the following questions, providing evidence and documentation to support your conclusion. Question: Study the expansion of Rome in Italy and the Mediterranean basin. Choosing ONE of the following three regional conflicts, describe the origins, course and outcome of Roman expansion (Roman expansion in Italy to 100 BC, the Punic Wars against Carthage, or the Macedonian and Syrian Wars in the eastern Mediterranean). What were some of the economic, social and political consequences of conquest?
