Please discuss your opinions as to whether you believe it is a good thing to require health care workers to report suspected cases of abuse or whether you feel that it hinders them in any way from providing the best possible care to their patients.

You might want to consider such things as;

• whether the decision to report suspected abuse should be left up to the healthcare provider,
• whether the decision to report suspected abuse should be left up to the patient,
• whether you believe that requiring a healthcare worker to report suspected abuse might prevent patients from openly communicating with their providers, etc.
