Police action in which Patrol Officers involvement article review

Students are to review newspapers or news magazines and select a significant article about some police action in which patrol officers were involved. Students are to read the article and identify issue(s) present in the police action. Evaluate officers’ actions by answering the following questions: were the officer’s actions : • legal? • proper/appropriate ? • was good judgment used? Why or why not? • did alternative actions exist? • did the officers actions involve tactics or procedures discussed in class? Which ones? Explain. In critiquing the police actions, use facts or other supporting argument rather than simply providing an opinion. Paper is to be typed, double spaced using a 12 point font. Include a title page that references the article.
