Produce a public service announcement (PSA) that would either help LGBT adults ages 35 – 50 who have smoked for over 10 years to quit or would prevent LGBT youth from starting to smoke.

It is well established that smoking tobacco is the leading cause of early mortality and morbidity in the United States with certain subgroups such as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender (LGBT) individuals experiencing tobacco-related disparities. As such, preventing LGBT youth from starting to smoke and encouraging smokers to quit is paramount to reaching HealthyPeople2020 objectives. Imagine that you have been asked by the American Ad Council to join a team to produce a public service announcement (PSA) that would either help LGBT adults ages 35 – 50 who have smoked for over 10 years to quit or would prevent LGBT youth from starting to smoke. Using a fear appeal approach coupled with the precaution adoption process model (PAPM), design a PSA.
