The Cloud Project has been going very well so far, and the chief information officer (CIO) is ready to start looking at some more complex opportunities. The supply chain program used by the firm is custom-written and has proven unstable and difficult to support in the past. The CIO would like to understand how the conceptual cloud model fits in with the on-premise model and whether a service-oriented architecture (SOA) approach could be used to rebuild the supply chain program.

Primary Task Response: Within the Discussion Board area, write 400–600 words that respond to the following questions with your thoughts, ideas, and comments. This will be the foundation for future discussions by your classmates. Be substantive and clear, and use examples to reinforce your ideas.

  • Provide an analysis on how the cloud conceptual model ties in with the traditional on-premise model.
  • Research an SOA approach and the benefits of its adoption. Would an SOA approach be the right approach for rebuilding the supply chain program? Provide justification as to why.
