You are required to write one 2000 word literature review that will consider one of the early dialogs of Plato and one book from Plato’s Republic. You will be asked to choose two texts that discuss a similar concept (i.e., the soul, reason, politics, ethics) and then compare the texts to see if the concepts differ between the early dialogs and the Republic. After describing, comparing, and contrasting the two texts, you will spend the last 500-600 words applying the relevant concept(s) to a contemporary ethical/political issue of your choice. During this section of the review you will be sure to analyse whether or not you think these classical philosophical ideas are still relevant to contemporary debate.
