In a Group of 3, select a UK-domiciled bank of your choice (e.g. HSBC Holdings, Lloyds Banking Group or Barclays). Each individual group member must then analyse the bank’s risk assessment and capital management activities for one of the following risk categories: market, credit or operational risk, ensuring that no more than one individual covers any given risk category. When conducting your analysis for your chosen area of risk you must consider only the following: • the appropriateness of the evaluation techniques that the bank is using to assess its exposure to market, credit or operational risk; and • whether the bank is holding sufficient capital resources to protect itself against its market, credit or operational risk exposures, both to meet current regulatory capital requirements and its appetite for risk.
