Final Research Paper The goal of this research paper is to master the literature as well as gain insight through individuals’ experiences in one of the following categories of criminal behavior: Sex Crimes: Rape, Child Molestation, Sexual Assaults The first part of the research paper includes a literature review on the type of crime category agreed upon by you and the professor. The review will be a summary and analysis of selected academic journal articles, government reports, practical reports, and/or class book chapters related to that topic. Popular magazines and articles will not be allowed unless previously approved by the professor. The literature review should focus on the most current information (past five to ten years), should be thorough in its coverage of the topic (between 5-8 references), and should be between 8 and 10 pages. Specifically, you should cover the nature of the crime, and psychological, social, biological, and cognitive characteristics of typical offenders in this area. Specifically, you should also survey how behavioral, cognitive, psychobiological and cultural aspects apply to specific types of crimes. Also, you should consider the type of victims sought out by offenders. The second part of the research paper will contain one (1) case study relating to your chosen area of crime. In other words, you will focus on the commission of a crime or crimes by one or more individuals acting as a group. The perpetrator(s) may be an individual/s described in written media, or a hypothetical person/s. You will describe the perpetrator’s background and the types of crime(s) engaged in by the perpetrator. You will address and discuss the relationship between the particular crime(s) and the interactions, if any, between biological and cognitive processes in human aggression and violence, their overt or covert forms displayed in the perpetrator(s). The student will also display a thorough understanding and command of the relevant literature. The case study portion should be between 3 and 5 pages
