For this assignment you will be writing a short paper answering ONE of the questions below on the Roman Republic and Early Empire. Choosing ONE of the following three regional conflicts, describe the origins, course and outcome of Roman expansion (Roman expansion in Italy to 100 BC, the Punic Wars against Carthage, or the Macedonian and Syrian Wars in the eastern Mediterranean).
