Telehealth and its Expanding Role in Healthcare Delivery

The history of telehealth will be explained from inception and the growth up until 2012. The benefits and negative aspects of telehealth will be explored from the health system, provider and patient’s perspectives and must include at minimum review of the evidence on health outcomes, costs to implement telehealth systems, maintenance costs, and patient satisfaction. There are three primary modalities of telehealth; real time interaction between patient and provider, store and forward and remote patient monitoring. The primary focus will be live interaction with the provider and how this has or has not benefited the patient, provider and health system. A brief review of the other two telehealth modalities would be ideal but very brief since these are not the focus. The author will take a position in support of or against telemedicine and be sure to include this position in the abstract based on the body of work and research findings. Writer must use APA format, 18 – 20 pages, one page maximum for title page. Minimum of 10 peer reviewed articles cited properly, maximum two pages for references.
