Please answer all five questions. Please put your name in the header. Use no more than one typewritten page per question, 11-point type, Calibri font if possible, singled spaced, 1-inch margins all around. Number your answers so that they correspond to the question numbers, but please do not repeat the question. Tables, graphs and bullets are allowed in your answer, but are included in the one-page limit. One one-page appendix is permitted, which is not included in the page limit. Use endnotes to cite both external and class sources. Endnotes all go at the end of the paper, not the bottom of each page. The page(s) of endnotes won’t count against the one-page-per-question limit. Focus and organize your analysis. Put your bottom line answer up front. Provide evidence. Be specific with recommendations. You are the newest employee in the Human Resource Department of Ford Motor Company, a large United States-based multinational automobile manufacturer. The Vice President of Human Resources has a few questions for you. She knows you are young, knowledgeable, and are familiar with human resource processes because you have taken American University’s Managing Human Capital class, as she has. So she wants your best, most creative thinking on what the future holds for Ford. She has the following specific questions: 1. The Baby Boom generation is rapidly retiring, and Millennials are taking over management positions in companies, including Ford. What changes will Ford have to make in its human resources processes to reflect the change in management styles from Baby Boomers to Millennials (and the generations in between)? 2. What jobs do you think will disappear at Ford over the next ten to twenty years? What jobs do you think will be required at Ford that it doesn’t have now? How should Ford prepare for that transition? 3. Ford is a global company. What trends in globalization will occur over the next ten to twenty years, particularly trends that will affect Ford? What changes can Ford make in its human resource processes to prepare for those trends? 4. What changes should Ford make in its human resources processes to take greater advantage of the rising number of freelance workers available in the job market? 5. What other human resource trends do you think will affect Ford in the next ten to twenty years? How should Ford respond to them?
