For this assignment, I would like you to consider how power is reflected through the architecture discussed in class. Specifically, the power of families and individuals – as opposed to the power of the Roman Catholic Church. Looking at the structures listed below – what common characteristics are used in the structures below to express power and social hierarchy? How do we see those characteristics within the structures below? Additionally, are there variations of the expression of power in these buildings? Do some have characteristics that the others do not share?
